(PTOJ) - On the morning of March 17, 2025, in Hanoi, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, in coordination with the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, the Communist Review, and the Central Theoretical Council, held a national scientific conference with the theme “The Party's theoretical work and important research orientations to 2030, with a vision to 2045”. DOI: 10.70786/PTJ.V42.8699 (PTOJ) - Ethnic minorities in Vietnam account for 14.6% of the country's population, living mainly in mountainous, remote, and isolated areas, that hold particularly important strategic positions in terms of economics, politics, national defense, and security. Ethnic minorities play an important role in building the economic, political, and national security potential. On the basis of clarifying the role, characteristics, and strength of ethnic minorities, this article suggests a number of ways to promote the role and strength of ethnic minorities in the cause of nation building and defense today.
