Ten Outstanding Achievements made by Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics over the last 10 years (2014 - 2024)

1. Renovating curricula, as well as compiling and publishing textbooks for all training and fostering systems

The Academy has regularly edited, supplemented, and updated the Party Congresses’ viewpoints into the system of 29 intermediate and advanced political theory textbooks. The Academy has also completed the revision and supplementation of 03 programs and compiled 65 textbooks for 03 political bachelor’s majors. The Academy has renovated the content of the postgraduate training program across its system and developed 07 training programs for political school lecturers and textbooks for advanced and intermediate political theory training courses for leaders and managers of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party.

2. Enhancing and improving the quality and discipline of leadership and management training according to meet professional standards and task requirements.

The Academy has successfully organized 03 training courses for members of the Party Central Committee, and 02 training courses for alternate members of the Party Central Committee. At the same time, for the first time, it organized a training course for the positions of Deputy Secretaries, Chairpersons of the People’s Councils and Chairpersons of the Provincial People’s Committees. It also conducted 10 training courses for cadres planned for membership in the Party Central Committee for the 12th and 13th terms and is implementing the second training course for cadres planned for membership in the Party Central Committee for the 14th term, etc. In addition, the Academy has also organized 02 thematic exchange programs for senior cadres and 02 training courses to update knowledge for Deputy Minister-level cadres of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic.

3. Strongly renovating scientific research to link theory and practice and to align research with advising on the Party’s guidelines and policies, as well as major State policies

The Academy has successfully completed over 100 major scientific projects, providing scientific arguments for drafting the documents for the 13th and 14th National Party Congresses. It has organized many forums and seminars with significant influence domestically and internationally. The Academy has also developed more than 100 reports and recommendations for the Politburo, the Secretariat, the National Assembly, and the Government to serve the process of planning the Party’s policies and guidelines, as well as the State’s policies. In 2024, the Academy awarded prizes to four outstanding research projects in political theory.

4. Proactively, actively, pioneering, and renovative the work of protecting the Party’s ideological foundation

The Academy has proactively integrated content for protecting the Party’s ideological foundation into the curriculum, lectures, training, and fostering activities. The Academy has become a central hub connecting provincial-level Party propaganda committees, universities, and research institutes in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation. The Academy has compiled a handbook on protecting the Party’s ideological foundation. The Political Essay Contest on Protecting the Party’s Ideological Foundation has been upgraded from the ministerial level to the national level.

5. Advancing and improving the quality of compiling the Party’s history and biographical research on key leaders, and exemplary senior leaders of the Party, and the Vietnamese revolution

The Academy has actively organized and guided the expertise and professional skills for researching and compiling the history of the Party, ministries, branches, and localities. The Academy has advised on improving the institution to continuously strengthen and enhance the quality of Party history research and compilation. The Academy has researched and proposed that the Politburo recognize 3 exemplary senior leaders and has organized the research and publication of 33 biographies of prominent Party, State, and revolutionary leaders.

6. Creating breakthroughs in improving the status and quality of political schools

The Academy has advised the Secretariat to issue regulations on functions, tasks, and organizational structure of political schools and standardized political schools. It has guided, supported, and promoted standard political schools, which has made a significant contribution to creating fundamental changes in improving the quality of political schools nationwide.

7. Strongly renovating international cooperation, scientific information, publishing, and journal activities to serve training, fostering, and scientific research

The Academy has cooperated with more than 200 international partners, implemented many international cooperation projects and activities, increased resources for training, fostering staff, and scientific research. These efforts have enhanced the position and prestige of the Academy in the international arena. Its scientific information, publishing, and journal work have effectively served the training, fostering, and scientific research.

8. Exemplifying leadership in streamlining the organizational apparatus for efficiency and effectiveness, paired with building a qualified workforce

The Academy has been a role model in rigorously implementing organizational streamlining for greater efficiency and effectiveness. It has emphasized training and fostering scientific staff, particularly young cadres, and has strengthened staff rotation and assignments for practical experience in ministries, branches, and localities.

9. Modernizing technical facilities, applying technology to improve service quality

The Academy has newly built, renovated, and upgraded modern student dormitories, improved the quality of lecture halls, conference halls, international conference rooms, physical equipment, technology, and campus facilities to better serve the training and development of cadres from all over the country. It has renovated the quality and service style to prioritize responsibility, professionalism, and friendliness.

10. Building a clean and strong Party Committee for the Academy, preserving and promoting the identity of the Party School

The Academy has developed a politically, ideologically, morally, organizationally, and staff-wise clean and strong Party Committee, maintaining and enhancing its identity as a model Party School, named after the beloved President Ho Chi Minh.
